Teaching in uncertain times can bring some challenges and some opportunities when teaching uncertainty itself. NYC K-12 students and teachers were thrown into an unusual school year with hybrid or fully-remote learning, changes (and even more changes) to the schedule, and dependence on technology to facilitate lessons. I will discuss my experience with my classes during the pandemic: how I used a trauma-informed approach to meet my students' needs, used a wide variety of resources to help students understand the statistics content, and safely introduced the topic of COVID-19 in my AP Statistics classroom.
