Abstract:
|
We propose a functional structural vector autoregression to model feedbacks in the climate system. Specifically, the VAR employs aggregate time series for exogenous solar and volcanic activity and for endogenous economic production and climate forcings from greenhouse gases and tropospheric aerosols, but functional time series for the global distribution of temperature anomalies. The mixture of VAR and functional VAR is novel, as is its use in modeling the climate system.
