Abstract:
|
Objective measures of physical activity are now collected in many observational and clinical trial studies using wearable accelerometers. They can be measured quasi-continuously for weeks or months at a time. In this talk I will show that objective PA measures are highly predictive of all-cause mortality using the two largest publicly available datasets that contain accelerometry: NHANES and UK Biobank. I will also introduce multiple methodological problems that have been open by the high dimensionality of accelerometry data.
