Abstract:
|
While the efficacy of interval-valued geostatistical mapping techniques has been previously demonstrated, there remains the need to standardize the notion of an interval-valued spatial object. The intkrige package numerically implements interval-valued kriging models and provides a set of tools for processing and visualizing interval-valued spatial data. These workflows are demonstrated with motivating examples. Some interval-valued spatial visualizations offered by the package are also presented and discussed. These tools make interval-valued spatial analysis accessible to anyone familiar with existing spatial packages in R. Such models and tools are well equipped to appropriately analyze an ever-increasing number of data sources of varying qualities to inform the environmental-related issues of the future.
