Abstract:
|
Students learn statistics better through analyzing real-world data, in which students also gain skills about data management/manipulation with computers. The presenter will share his experience of teaching statistics with online statistical tools and open source data to non-statistics majors in a university similar to his. Examples used in his teaching will be shown. The result of a survey regarding students' attitude to the teaching approach will be shared. Upsides and downsides of the teaching approach will be discussed too.
