Abstract:

Today, data mining and gene expressions are at the forefront of modern research in science and technology. In this paper we develop a new probability distribution applicable in these fields. This paper focuses on developing a probability distribution in the positive orthant of the hypersphere, avoiding unnecessary probability mass. The distribution properties, including normalizing constants and basics properties are developed. Connections with other distributions are also explored. Efficient estimators based on classical inferential statistics, such as method of moments and maximum likelihood estimators, are obtained. Some applications for this distribution are also developed and the results are discussed.
