There are many scientific challenges in which we need to make inference based on one highly multivariate observation. This is especially true at the DOE laboratories where we often conduct detailed analysis of one-off experiments conducted decades ago. This has driven the area of uncertainty quantification in which complex and computationally intensive simulations are compared with the observation to understand the underlying physical processes. The study of the large scale structure of the Universe provides a particularly exciting example which includes many of the challenges that apply to the study of smaller objects. This talk will describe the analysis of a simulation campaign to study the structure and growth of the Universe, including designing the simulation campaign, combining results across resolutions, processing the data, and building an emulator.
