Abstract:

R Markdown provides a flexible set of tools to produce high-quality reproducible documents using statistical analysis from R combined with responsive narrative text. However, there are very few options for producing PDF documents that meet accessibility standards. We discuss a process for producing complex documents from statistical analysis with basic accessibility features and how to ensure compliance with standards such as WCAG 2.0. We also suggest ways to solve challenges such as formatting and branding, document automation, and quality assurance.
