In the past few years, data science courses and programs have sprung up across the country to meet the growing demand for data scientists in the job market. In this talk, I will discuss the current gap between what is taught and what companies need and ways to remedy this. My talk will focus specifically on "hard" skills and computational tools that make one a productive data scientist.
