Abstract:

In this talk, I will present a generalization of the destructive cure rate models by assuming that each competing cause undergoes a destructive process for more than one time. The states of the causes, after each destructive process, are assumed to form a sequence of Markov dependent Bernoulli trials. To find the maximum likelihood estimates of the model parameters, I will discuss the steps of the expectation maximization algorithm. I will also present the results of an extensive simulation study to demonstrate the performance of the model and the proposed estimation method.
