Abstract:

Patient centricity in drug development is becoming an integral part of clinical trial designs to improve patient participation in assessing treatment benefit as well as ascertaining patient preferences. With the promise of enhanced patient monitoring, patient centricity allows a seamless data flow among the patient, the provider and the payer. This development is ushering design and implementation of new patient centric tools to measure patient reported outcomes in clinical trialseffectively and economically. The goal of this round table discussion is to exchange ideas on patient centricity and to get a perspective on what is being done currently in clinical research and its merits. We will also provide an example of patient centricity approach implemented in a clinical trial to evaluate treatment benefit in patients recently diagnosed with schizophrenia.
