Abstract:
|
We propose a novel application of the marginalized two-part model for longitudinal semicontinuous data in which the marginal mean is expressed in terms of the covariates to estimate their marginal interpretable effects. The continuous component is assumed to follow distributions that stem from the generalized gamma family whereas the binary measure is analyzed using logistic model, and are linked by correlated random effects to capture the within subject correlations. This study was motivated by our interest in determining the clinical parameters that affect the levels of connective tissue growth factor, a pathogenic risk factor for diabetic complications, measured longitudinally in type 1 diabetic patients.
