At JSM2017, Dr Mine Cetinkaya-Rundel suggested teaching introductory R-based data analysis with tidyverse tools, rather than those from the traditional base R. This presentation chronicles the first year of adopting such an approach, and details strategies and support materials used to succeed with two very different groups of first-year statistics students.
