Abstract:

This panel session features the hosts of several statistics and data science podcasts. Each panelist provides a brief overview of their podcast, communicating the initial motivation for developing their show, summarizing common topics or themes of individual episodes, and describing what they hope to accomplish through this medium. Panel discussion addresses the ability of podcasts to communicate, educate, and entertain; the potential of podcasts to attract a new generation of statistical thinkers; and the need for statisticians and data scientists to develop their leadership and communication skills and to become more outward facing in their roles, both with quantitative and non-quantitative professionals.
