Abstract

For junior faculty, a mentor can offer opportunities, advice and support that are invaluable in career development. In this roundtable, we will lead a discussion on several topics related to the mentee-mentor relationship from the mentee perspective. Specific topics include: 1) what to expect from a mentor 2) what qualities to look for in a mentor and types of mentors 3) challenges in the mentee-mentor relationship 4) practices that can help the mentee develop a sustained and successful mentee-mentor relationship.
