Abstract:

The fields of data analysis has changed dramatically since the recent big data and data science revaluation. As a results, data analysis professionals need to acquire new knowledge and skills to be competitive in the career. Nowadays, new data analysis professionals are in the following areas in general: business analyst, business intelligence engineer, visualization and dashboard designer, data engineer, and data scientist. Statistician and statistics department students (BS, MS or PhD) can be excellent candidates to any one of these data analysis professional categories based on his or her own background and career interest. In this talk, we will go over the difference among these data analysis professional categories and illustrate how to grow in each career path.
