Abstract:
|
With consumer needs changing rapidly, getting products to market quickly is critical. However, successful product development is time consuming because it must balance sometimes competing objectives: optimizing consumer taste and nutrition; ensuring food safety and shelf-life; and managing costs and regulatory requirements. One way to speed this up is to replace physical experiments with virtual experiments based on statistical models. We will share some examples, and challenges, of creating models and running virtual experiments to reduce the development time.
