The survey research community is increasingly turning to strategies that overcome the increased cost and lower cooperation rates in our surveys. One such approach involves non-probability sampling which takes many forms but the bottom line is that the selection probabilities are largely unknown. Efforts are underway to figure out how to "legitimize" surveys based on non-probability sampling, for example, by combining them with traditional surveys. At this roundtable we will discuss real-world examples of non-probability sampling and touch on the future role of this methodology in survey research.
