Abstract #324836
Title: Open-Source Programming in the Regulated Environment
Author(s): Greg Valin*
Companies: Amgen
Keywords: open source ; R ; python ; drug development
Abstract:

The purpose of the roundtable is to discuss the use of open-source software, such as R and Python, in early and/or clinical development. While SAS will be used for most submission packages, open-source software is being used for some exploratory work and possibly more considering the FDA's stance on R for submission work. Topics of the roundtable would also include, but not be limited to, how Biostatistics and Programming departments are managing the use of open source, encouraging staff to add to their skill sets, software versioning, best practices and documentation.
