Fantasy sports continue to grow as a major social activity for fans eager to display their sports expertise in a competition against their peers. Most serious fans use meticulous planning and research in the hopes of out-smarting rival teams which has created the burgeoning market of readily available sports data and analysis tools that assist team owners in their roster decisions. Each year, most fantasy leagues start anew, giving participants the opportunity to tinker and plan in the quest for the perfect team. This presentation continues from one given at JSM 2013. I have tested my techniques with four years of new data and found these methods continue to be valid. In addition, I have added a new way to solve a problem identified in my earlier work. The additional data has also pointed out changes in fantasy basketball dynamics from regression and trend analyses that the sports web sites have not yet incorporated. The end result is a more sophisticated process of ranking and rating NBA players to better reflect their true value to a fantasy sports team owner. The talk will also demonstrate new analytics developed that can make a winner out of any fan who is willing to try them!
