Healthcare organizations understand that an effective workforce is critical for ensuring patient quality of care. Thus hiring, selecting, and developing high performing employees has become a major strategic imperative for many health services providers. However, what is not as clear is how to objectively quantify the relationship between worker competencies and the patient experience. During this roundtable, we will discuss the role of statistics in measuring and modeling employee (and team) competencies, their impact on patient quality of care, and how having a better understanding of these relationships might drive health policy decision making.
