The Act and the development of a Clearinghouse provide a unique opportunity for the statistics community to come together to research and establish best practices and methodologies to build a sustainable basis for evidenced-based decision making. As we move from the land of 'data islands' to a land of data interoperability that connects, links, and matches different data sets from different sources and collected for different reasons, there is a need for developing better governance, better methodologies, and better technologies. The statistical community is uniquely positioned to meet this challenge. This paper will discuss the methodological, technological, and policy challenges surrounding a well-run, well used evidence-based clearinghouse.
