Abstract:

We explore spatial and temporal trends of vehicle crashes and present them using simple and engaging visualization tools. Crash incidents are clustered based on several factors such as vehicle(driver), road, and environmental conditions while the hour of day holds the story in sequence. Based on the time and location of crash data collected by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), we predict mortality rate for each type of vehicle and driver's action/response.
