Title: Effective Collaboration Between Biostatisticians with Clinicians in Conducting Medical Research: Results Reporting

Abstract:

Objectives: Presenting an effective and comprehensive method for communication the results of medical research project with clinicians successfully. Methods: The standardized dynamic report is shared with the research team. Our report consists of 3 major parts. The first section includes the project, researchers and biostatisticians information and project's objectives. The second part includes executive summary, the statistical analysis and written explanation. The final part consists of the appendices of all the data transformations and data management and the statistical analysis outputs. Case Studies: We will illustrate our report through two case studies, one from the Oncology Department, and the second from the labaratory. Conclusion: Using this process resulted in very successful collaborations between the clinical teams and the Biostatistics group. It also enabled us to avoid miscommunication.
