Abstract #320961
Title: Pairwise Comparison of Scale Using Medians and Permutation Tests
Author(s): Scott Richter* and Melinda McCann
Companies: The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Oklahoma State University
Keywords: Test for scale ; Permutation test ; Multiple comparisons
Abstract:

Permutation tests based on medians are examined for pairwise comparison of scale. Tests that have been found in the literature to be effective for comparing two groups are compared. Strong Type I error is controlled using both Bonferroni's adjustment as well as the Tukey-type adjustment of Richter & McCann (2007). Power and Type I error estimates are computed using simulated data from several different distributions.
