In cricket, all-rounders play an important role. A good all-rounder should be able to contribute to the team by both bat and ball as needed. However, these players still have their dominant role by which we categorized them as batting all-rounders or bowling all-rounders. So far, there is no standard method to do this categorization. Current practice is to do this by mostly using subjective methods. In this study, authors will explore different statistical methods to accomplish this task. In particular, discriminant analysis, logistic regression and Bayesian classification methods will be explored.
