The short answer is that I don't know. I'll describe examples where I've tried to enlist the media to help change policy. These range from cancer screening to doping in sports to Big Data to clinical trials. I've learned better what doesn't work than what does work. I'll relay my perception of lessons learned. And I'll address whether it's worth trying to enlist the media's help regarding important policy questions.
