Becoming a postdoctoral researcher after graduation has historically been less common for those in the mathematical sciences, particularly statistics. However, with the growing rate of doctoral degrees being granted, faculty positions have become sparse and competitive, leading many into uncharted waters. In this roundtable, we will discuss the challenges and benefits of being a postdoc both in general and in statistics specifically. Some of the tips and tricks to survival will also be discussed.
