Abstract:
|
A randomization-based activity to introduce ANOVA was compared to a traditional method of presenting this topic. Students in four sections of an advanced introductory statistics class participated in this study. Two class sections were assigned to the experimental teaching method while the other two were assigned to the tradition method of instruction. Students took a pre-test and post-test which gauged understanding of inference and sampling distributions. This presentation provides information on the study that was carried out along with corresponding assessment results and tips for successfully implementing the randomization activity.
