Title: Being Bayesian in a Big Data World
Author(s): David Banks*
Companies: Duke University
Keywords: frequentism ; Bayesianism ; Big Data ; machine learning
Abstract:

The Bayes/frequentist division does not cleanly map onto the machine learning community. And Big Data science also poses challenges for both of the traditional statistical philosophies. This talk explores these issues in the context of frequentist properties of inference, decision analysis, and modeling.
