Abstract:
|
Kidney paired donation (KPD) program is a platform for candidates with willing but incompatible donors to exchange donors. Allocating an altruistic donor (AD) to a candidate whose donor agrees to donate to another candidate and so on generates an exchange chain. To improve AD optimization strategy in KPD, this paper investigated into simulation results of match runs adopting tree-based look-ahead multiple decision strategy with different chain lengths and tree depths. Candidates and donors in simulations were drawn from actual KPD programs. Realized utility increases with sum of chain length and tree depth. Given limited computational ability, the strategy assigning chain length and tree depth equally yields more realized utility.
