Abstract:
|
We studied features obtained through FTICR-MS analysis of samples from a long-term reciprocal soil transplant experiment. The experiment was carried out to determine the response of dryland soils to climate change. Using a combination of classification and clustering approaches, we sought distinguishing features in FTICR-MS spectra that could be associated, through subject matter expertise, to metabolic changes in microbial populations. This task is challenging due to the presence of thousands of spectral features in each of more than one hundred soil samples analyzed.
