Title: Designing Undergraduate Programs in Business Analytics and Data Science
Author(s): Amy L. Phelps* and Diane Fisher
Companies: Duquesne University and University of Louisiana at Lafayette
Keywords: Academic Analytics Programs ; Big Data ; Data Analytics ; Data Science ; Undergraduate Analytics Programs ; Undergraduate Statistics Programs
Abstract:

Big Data is a hot topic these days. There is even an appropriately named hit song, "Dangerous," by the group Big Data! This roundtable invites you to share ideas and concerns about developing an academic program in business analytics or data science. While the topic may be in the forefront, its definition is complex and comes with additional academic problems given its multi-disciplinary nature. Whether you are tweaking an existing program or just starting to define its academic components, all are welcome.
