Abstract:

The world of data has changed. Analytics have evolved in the last 10 years from context-related small data gathering to complex connections of Big Data. Data is now seen as a commodity that many data disciplines stake claims of turning digits into competitive advantages. The result has been a sea of disciplines divided by methodology and practice demonstrating that not all methods and practices are obtaining overall desired benefits in the evolution of analytics. Statisticians can help remove these divides, leveraging the strengths from all data disciplines to create synergies for best overall business decisions. In this panel, four experts from Intel and other companies will discuss how a team of data scientists and statisticians partnered, creating an Analytics Technical Steering Committee, leveraging the collaboration among various data disciplines. The result of the collaboration is an Analytic Center of Excellence hosting a cohesive and global analytics strategy, one voice of best analytical practices, processes, and education, and the positive impact of business efficiency and fundamentals for Intel and its customers.
