Abstract:
|
Transfer functions refer to models where there is a need to quantify the accumulated effect of an input series on a response one. In this talk we will consider problems where the input is recorded at a much higher temporal frequency than the output. To tackle such problems we propose a continuous time filter where the transfer function corresponds to a Gaussian process. These methods are applied to fisheries problems where the yearly abundance is measured yearly and its variability is associated with oceanic indexes that provide summaries of relevant ocean quantities on a monthly frequency.
