Abstract:
|
Shaffer (1986) modified Holm's (1979) step-down Bonferroni procedure for logically related hypotheses (LRH). Hochberg and Rom (1995) used Shaffer's procedure in conjunction with Hochberg's (1988) and Rom's (1990) step-up procedures to devise more powerful procedures for LRH. In this presentation, a further enhancement is proposed for LRH using Rom's (2013) improved Hochberg procedure. The new procedure is shown to have power advantage over the procedures proposed in Hochberg and Rom (1995). Simulations indicate that the procedure strongly controls the Family-Wise Error rate (FWE) when the test statistics are positively correlated.
