Abstract:
|
Lack of resources and large class sizes can make it difficult to teach the entire process involved in statistical inference, especially in the introductory course. Instead of teaching statistics as a collection of facts and mathematical calculations, we hope to excite the power of innovation and creativity that occur within real-world data analysis. What is the best way to introduce inference in a real-world context? How can we use technology to ease the work load for faculty and make the process more engaging for students? We will discuss current literature in incorporating research-like experiences into the classroom and potential opportunities for class testing these ideas.
