Abstract:
|
EnvStats is a new open-source comprehensive R package for environmental statistics; it is the successor to the commercial module EnvironmentalStats for S-PLUS released in 1997, which had an extensive user base, and has been used for example by the National Atmospheric Deposition Program to study trends in acid rain (Lehmann and Gay, 2011). EnvStats provides a comprehensive set of functions for graphical and statistical analyses of environmental data using methods and datasets from the literature and US Environmental Protection Agency regulatory guidance documents, along with an extensive hypertext help system that explains the methods and where to find them in the literature. This talk will demonstrate some of the key features of EnvStats and touch on issues related to building an R package.
