Abstract:

Graphic designers such as David McCandless and data journalists such as Amanda Cox of the New York Times are leading the way in data visualization. You might be surprised to see what is possible: treemaps, streamgraphs, word clouds, bubble races and more. Some of the best current examples of graphics will be given, along with ideas of class activities and assignments.
