Abstract:

New generation atypical antipsychotics are used to treat adolescent psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. However, only a few have been approved by US FDA for pediatric indication. In this work we carried out a systematic review of randomized-controlled studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of APs in adolescents (12-18 years suffering from schizophrenia. By use of meta-analysis, we show the comparative efficacy of APs in controlling psychotic symptoms with adolescent with schizophrenia.
