Abstract:
|
This presentation will discuss big data and its applications in the National Football League. It will cover the data itself, how they are obtained and distributed, and the tools used to collect and analyze them. Modern applications of football analytics will also be covered, including on-field optimization using game theory and decision theory, player selection, and player valuation. Additionally, it will cover the extension of sports analysis as a laboratory for other fields such as behavioral economics.
