Abstract:
|
Dynamic treatment regimes, also called treatment policies or adaptive treatment strategies, are individualized sequences of treatments. This roundtable will discuss open issues in the design of sequential multiple assignment randomized trials for use in developing dynamic treatment regimes. These issues concern how to size these trials, pros and cons of different types of outcomes and pros and cons of different primary hypotheses. Additionally we will discuss challenges in developing statistical methods for use in constructing dynamic treatment regimes.
