Abstract:

To compromise the risk of misspecified hazard function in parametric models and the difficulty of explanation for estimation results in totally nonparametric ones, we concerned with estimation for an appealing single-index hazards model. Our approach can be naturally extended to the data setting with multiple risks and is not addressed in this study. Moreover, the asymptotic properties of the pseudo estimator and the corresponding statistical inferences are developed. The pros and cons of our approach and a comparison with the foregoing ones are explored through numerical experiments with various sample sizes and censoring rates.
