Abstract:
|
%INCLUDE is a convenient way to execute SASĀ® programs. However, when these programs are used in multiple platforms, certain precautions need to be taken. This paper describes a situation in which a SAS program was copied from PC to UNIX using Samba and %INCLUDE was used to invoke and run it in the UNIX environment. As expected, an "Invalid data" note was in the log and the output was not correct. By adding the "RECFM=P" option in the %INCLUDE statement, the problem will be resolved. This paper will explain the reasons behind the solution and other ways to handle this type of situation.
