Abstract:
|
For a continuous-scale diagnostic test, the most commonly used summary index of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve is the area under the curve (AUC) that measures the accuracy of the diagnostic test. Since medical diagnosis often is not dichotomy, the ROC curve and AUC need to be generalized to a multi-dimension case. In this paper, we make a generalization of AUC to an ordered multi-class diagnosis and give a proper example.U-statistics, bootstrap and empirical likelihood method are used and compared for inference.
