Abstract:
|
The breadth and depth of Sam Kotz's contributions to Statistics and related scientific areas are nothing short of astounding. Sam's dominant research interest lay in statistical distribution theory and its applications to a range of scientific endeavors. He was both a unifying force and an original thinker for research in these fields. We will explore some of his contributions, particularly in quality control and to statistical measures of size and inequality. Finally, we consider the avenues his work has opened up to future researchers in these areas.
