Abstract:
|
Event history data are often observed at discrete inspection times, leading to interval censoring. We examine the extension of semiparametric maximum likelihood for interval-censored survival data to Cox model alternatives, panel observation schemes and multiple event types. Standard computational methods can prove unwieldy in these more general problem settings. To address this issue we consider the adaptation of dimension-reduction strategies recently considered for nonparametric survival data. Numerical performance and application of our proposed methods are demonstrated using some simple event history models. We conclude with a discussion on how these results can be used to deal with other forms of incomplete data.
