Abstract:
|
Statistical literature is sparse for estimating sample size for an interaction effect between two binary covariates in a Cox proportional hazard regression model. Also, researchers are often times interested in estimating sample size required to detect a specific hazard ratio in a Cox regression analysis. This article presents a simulation based approach to estimate the sample size required to detect the interaction between two binary covariates in a Cox regression model. The method is simple to implement and gives an estimate of the sample size needed to detect a specific hazard ratio. The results are compared to sample size estimation methods available in the literature.
