Abstract:
|
Since the World Medical Association's 2000 pronouncement on the ethical use of active control in clinical trial, it has become almost impossible to do a placebo control trial in clinical investigations involving mortality and serious morbidity trials. A plethora of publications have appeared to address the issues associated with the design, analysis and interpretation of a non-inferiority trial without the presence of a placebo. This talk will discuss some new perspectives on the design, analysis and interpretation of non-inferiority trial.
