Abstract:
|
Previous studies of female patients who have begun the three-injection sequence of quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV4) have suggested that race and socioeconomic status are primary correlates with the rate of successful completion. This study is intended to expand upon these findings using data from two urban clinics and two suburban clinics of Johns Hopkins. Logistic regression is used to establish best predictors and suggest a potential model for predicting completion rate and identifying groups at risk for unsuccessful completion. Correlates examined in this study include age group, clinic location, type of insurance provider, and completion pattern (i.e., whether the patient successfully completed the sequence within the six-month period recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice or within the one-year period suggested by the manufacturer).
